Initiatives

We are currently partnering with the following organizations and encourage you to take the time to dive into what they are all about and what they are doing.

Chab Dai

Human trafficking, exploitation and abuse are global issues victimizing and enslaving men, women, and children in every country, and of every nationality and race. Chab Dai is committed to seeing an end to abuse and trafficking through collaboration, networking, prevention and direct project development. The vision behind Chab Dai (which means “joining hands” in Khmer) was founded in Cambodia in 2005. In addition to their office in Cambodia, the vision of Chab Dai has been expanded into the USA and Canada. Chab Dai focuses on the issues of: human trafficking, commercial sexual exploitation, sex tourism, sexual abuse of boys, demand, forced labor and migration, child labor, and statelessness. Daughters of Cambodia

Daughters has developed a unique model in Cambodia, one in which sex workers come direct to the organization from the brothels by choice. Daughters’ day centre, in the heart of an area of Phnom Penh brothels, reaches out to girls working as sex workers and offers them ways out of this situation. Daughters is not a shelter, but they facilitate the girls’ exit from the sex industry by providing a number of resources and programs that enable them to set themselves free and sustain healthy choices for their own lives. The girls come because they are already motivated to change their lives, and Daughters gives them choice and dignity in building a different future, that make their choices sustainable and respect their human rights. Programs build the girls’ internal capacity; facilitating psychological and emotional healing, building self-worth and confidence, providing a means of self-expression, teaching skills in problem-solving and teaching tools for girls to increase their own psychological and social quality of life. First Step

First Step is a new project designed to meet the needs of male victims and survivors of sexual abuse and their families, carers, supporters and communities. These needs are met through social work and other activities related to prevention and protection, support, advocacy and education. Their primary goal is to work in partnership with everyone for positive change and ensure that all male survivors are enabled to achieve their potential with freedom and dignity. First Step is working towards a Cambodia in which all children, young people and adults are protected from sexual abuse and exploitation in society – and those who have experienced abuse, have easily accessible, safe, appropriate and sensitive support, enabling them to fulfill their potential.
